One course. One story. A full day of gravel in the Icelandic highlands.
The Cuckoo Iceland route is a single long loop starting and finishing in Árnes, exploring the full character of Þjórsárdalur and its surroundings. Expect:
» Long stretches of gravel and dirt roads through highland valleys
» Views of Háifoss waterfall and neighbouring canyons
» Climbs towards volcanic ridges around Búrfell
» Remote sections near Iceland’s renewable energy infrastructure, where nature and innovation coexist
Cuckoo Iceland combines fast-rolling gravel, rougher volcanic sectors, river valleys and exposed highland weather. Conditions can change quickly — from sunshine to wind, rain or cold.
